Meena is an incredible sports talent
who has the potential to transcend the sport and reach fans
in the US, Korea and around the world. Although just 24 years
of age, she knows how to succeed through dedication, devotion
and discipline. She continues to improve and develop her game,
and will be a valuable part of the LPGA tour for years to come.
Meena started playing golf at the age of 14, rather late for
a future superstar. However, just five years later, she became
the Korean Amateur Champion in 2000, and was named to the Korean
National Team in 2001.
In 2002, her rookie season on the Korea Ladies Professional
Golf Association (KLPGA) tour, Meena won three events, had six
other top-10 finishes, finished as the leading money-winner
and earned KLPGA Rookie of the Year and Most Valuable Player
honors. In 2003, she played in nine events on the KLPGA, winning
one event and posting three other top-10 finishes to take 5th
on the money list. |
